"It is my second year here and this is the first time that I feel like we should have had this application since a while a go! I think it is a really good app for student-athletes. I like that coaches and stuff can make changes and put all of our schedules  in one place."
-- SeanYi Yip, a student-athlete
"It has helped me a lot. When I want to know my schedule in advance, I can just go on Teamworks. Our coach put everything in there so it is way easier than going back and forth on my mailbox."
--Logan Davis, a student-athlete
"When I need to meet my student-athletes, I can schedule it through Teamworks and it will notify the student-athletes. It is also very convenient when I need to contact them or see their class schedule or personal information"
-- Matt Phelps, an athletics academic adviser
"So far, I think Teamworks has been helpful and it would be great if we continue using it. I like that we can see our practice plan, my class schedule and other events we need to attend. I can even see where my class is in there. Isn't it cool? Also, when the compliance and athletic staff message us through Teamworks, it makes it look more personal since it is not like a formal message that we get on email."
--Christiana McDowell, a student-athlete
"I use Teamworks for the first time and I think it has been working well. It keeps my team on the same page. It has a reminder for each event and practice so that the student-athletes get notified. I like that it helps student-athletes and the staff have a better relationship between each other."

Introduce Teamworks

What is Teamworks?

Teamworks is a phone application focused on engaging student-athletes to have more effective communication. It helps making schedule and practice plan easier than before. Of course, student-athletes will be able to interact with their coaches instantly and easily. Teamworks allows coaches to send student-athletes the forms and messages though here. There is no need to use an email with Teamworks and this will avoid people who do not regularly check emails. Student-athletes are able to contact the compliance or athletic staff. Student-athletes will get the notification of their everyday schedule and it will keep everyone on the same page. There is no more forgetting or being late. It works for class schedule as well. It has helped many collegiate teams in the United States.

Why Texas State Athletic Department should adopt Teamworks?

Teamworks is an advanced platform that will help Texas State Department in many ways of communicating to student-athletes. It will benefit both student-athletes and the athletic department. Student-athletes will be able to see their personal class schedule and practice plan. It is easy for staff and coaches to build a schedule for student-athletes, create events or make changes.

Texas State Athletic Department Adopts the next level of communication with Teamworks.

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS— In Spring 2018, Texas State Department will fully use the Teamworks application on smartphones to engage student-athletes.

TeamWork is an application created by Zach Maurides on a mission to help athletes communicate better with their teams and staff. Over 2,000 teams across the nation are using Teamworks in order to communicate, create a schedule with student-athletes and help them succeed in both sport and academic performance.

Teamworks will allow coaches, staff and student-athletes to interact easier than ever before. The well-organized application will make it possible for athletes to see their class and practice schedules, other events and messages from the coaches and staff. Teamworks will help the Athletic Department to achieve their mission statement, “The Department of Athletics will be nationally recognized as a leader through its commitment to excellence in education and personal development, success in athletic competition, equitable opportunities, and for serving as a stakeholder in university and community pride.”

Texas State Athletic Department first adopted Teamworks in fall 2018 for coaches and student-athletes to try. Many coaches and student-athletes sent good feedbacks and Texas State Athletic Department will continue to use Teamworks in the next season and so on.

“I think all of us will be able to be more interconnected not only just one sport but also the whole athletic department and the whole school,” said Joy Chia, the representative of the Texas State Tennis, “I’m very excited to see the next level of communication with the student-athletes and the staff.”
